Music

You don’t have to be a musician to make music.

Music can be something you listen to, learn, write, or make alone in your bedroom with absolutely no idea what you’re doing.

The Lantern Room is about giving yourself permission to try.

You don’t need experience.
You don’t need expensive equipment.
You don’t need an audience.

You just need somewhere to begin.

About This Song: Weightless

Weightless is about what happens when you finally put down things you were never meant to carry forever. For me, it came from reaching a place where I didn’t need to keep fighting old battles, explaining myself, or carrying other people’s versions of my story.

There is a strange freedom that comes with letting go. At first, you almost don’t know what to do with all that space.

This song is about that space—the quiet that comes after, the freedom of becoming lighter, and realizing you get to decide what comes next.

I made Weightless because sometimes healing isn’t about fixing anything anymore.

Sometimes it’s simply about putting it down.

About This Song: They Never Knew

They Never Knew is one of the most personal songs I’ve written.

It comes from a time in my childhood when I was removed from my home and placed into foster care. There was fear and uncertainty, but this song isn’t really about what happened to me. It’s about the people who showed up in the middle of it.

Teachers, social workers, foster parents, and people who probably never knew how much their kindness mattered. Small moments that may have felt ordinary to them became things I carried with me for the rest of my life.

They may never know what they left behind.

This song is for them—and for anyone who has ever shown up for a child without knowing whether it made a difference.

Sometimes it makes all the difference.

About This Song: Leave the Dishes

Leave the Dishes is about realizing that life doesn’t always need to be so serious.

For a long time, I was really good at doing what needed to be done. Working, taking care of things, being responsible, and always thinking about what came next.

Eventually I started asking myself—what if I just left the dishes?

What if everything didn’t have to be finished before I could go have fun? What if I stopped waiting for the perfect time and just went?

This song is about choosing the drive, the music, the adventure, and the ridiculous little moments that make you feel alive.

The dishes will still be there when you get home.

Life won’t wait.
